UPDATE: Russian Railways’ Jul cargo loading grows 2.2% to 106.6 mln tns

MOSCOW, Aug 1 (PRIME) -- The cargo loading of Russian Railways increased 2.2% on the year to 106.6 million tonnes in July, the company said in a statement on Tuesday.
Cargo transportation rose 5.1% on the year to 208 billion tonne-kilometers in July.
In January–July, cargo loading rose 3.3% on the year to 727.3 million tonnes. Cargo transportation increased 7.1% to 1.434 trillion tonne-kilometers.
Handling of coal grew 9.8% on the year to 206.1 million tonnes in the period, while traffic of oil and oil products went up by 0.7% to 137.5 million tonnes; of ferrous metal scrap by 2.4% to 8.5 million tonnes; of chemical and mineral fertilizers by 8.5% to 33.2 million tonnes; of timber cargo by 3.9% to 26.5 million tonnes; and of grain by 10.1% to 10.5 million tonnes.
Loading of coke fell by 1.6% to 6.5 million tonnes, of iron and manganese ore by 0.2% to 63.8 million tonnes, of ferrous metals by 0.4% to 41.3 million tonnes, and of construction cargoes by 6.7% to 77.7 million tonnes.
Previously, First Vice President Anatoly Krasnoshchyok said that Russian Railways expected cargo loading to grow 0.3% on the year in August. The latest forecast of the company foresees the cargo loading rising 2.6% in 2017.
